Welcome!
Grozești lies on the western border of Moldova hugging the Prut River and Romania. It is a village of beautiful vistas, hills and valleys, fields of sunflowers and corn. Moldovans are open, warm, friendly, and generous people and are renowned for their hospitality. Village life is simple but the days are long; people usually work from sunrise to sunset. With fertile soils and bountiful sunshine during the growing season, each household maintains a very large vegetable garden and raises farm animals . The people of Grozesti are proud farmers who follow the seasons faithfully-- planting, reaping, preserving, and of course preparing extravagant feasts and fermenting the must to create excellent wines.
In Grozești family comes first. They believe strongly in the value of maintaining the bonds that hold a family together. The young take care of the old; neighbors look after each other. Families gather regularly to show appreciation and to celebrate life with wine and food....Mananc! Mananc! Eat! Eat!
I encourage you to step back in time to a simpler way of life rich in traditional Moldovan customs. Take a moment to learn about Grozești and then come and spend a day or two getting to know the generous people that call this village their home.

gather water at the village well.....
Water is a necessity of life.
In the village it is not taken for granted;
it is appreciated and conserved.
Most villagers do not have indoor
plumbing and will gather water at
one of the many decorative wells
throughout the village.
